David qualified as a Solicitor in 1982. He joined David Charnley & Co. as a specialist criminal lawyer in 1989. He is a senior solicitor in the firm. David has extensive experience of most aspects of the criminal justice system. He now concentrates on preparing serious and high cost cases. He is a Police Station and Court Duty Solicitor and a Specialist Fraud Supervisor and part of the LSC Very High Cost Case Panel.

David has been involved in over 90 murder cases and investigations during his career. He was lead solicitor lawyer in the Danielle Jones contracted murder case and supervising case manager in a further 14 contracted fraud and other very high cost cases since 2002.

Other notable cases that David has worked on include the Afghan hijacking case at Stansted Airport, multi million pound MTIC international fraud cases and numerous other criminal defence cases which have attracted national and other extensive publicity in the media.
